Geometry
This course is designed to help students view their world in multiple dimensions through a 32-week, 90 minute class each week structure. Students will learn to think logically, use diagrams, construct figures and apply theorems and postulates. Students will also learn the process of proofs and how to utilize them effectively. Geometry will cover topics on lines, angles, triangles, polygons, circles, arcs, and trigonometry. Students should have already taken at least Algebra 1 as a pre-requisite. Geometry can be taken before, after or in conjunction with Algebra 2. Interactive and self-made projects will be adapted into the curriculum as well.
This course will be supplemented with tutor-made video lessons viewed weekly and online assignments through a game-based program. Class time will be spent reinforcing the video lessons (watched at home) through hands-on activities and extending the lessons for advanced learners. Students will need to come to class having viewed the lessons, followed the note sheet, and completed their daily online assignments in order to stay on track and be prepared. Monthly assignment calendar sheets will be given for students to follow and make sure they are ready to fully participate in class each week.
