Are you new to computers and need to understand how to effectively use your computer? Would you like to know more about how a computer works? Do you need to learn how to use the internet safely and how to save, locate and download files? In this beginning computer class, we will cover the following topics:

Saving organization – files, folders, flash drives, etc.
Understanding Applications
Connecting to the Internet
Digital Literacy
What Is the Cloud?
Internet Safety: Your Browser's Security Features
Emailing
Understanding Spam and Phishing
Browser Basics
Editing pictures
Troubleshooting
Accessibility features – text-to-speech, assistive technology, etc
Programming/Coding (if time permits)
Required materials: (you have the choice of purchasing the books on your own or I can order them for you – prices are listed under supply fees)
Students MUST have access to a Windows PC laptop and internet access. They must be able to bring their computer and charger to class.

Access to Schoology – Assignments and grades will be posted here.
Access to Google Classroom—Assignments and quizzes will also be posted here for use in the classroom.
Class homework requirements: Weekly assignments, including typing lessons and computer lessons, are required every week.
