World Geography: Exploring Countries and Cultures
Travel the world as you explore diverse countries and cultures while learning geography with this 1.5 hour, 30 week class built on My Father’s World curriculum Exploring Countries and Cultures. Taking each continent one at a time, students will learn what countries make up that continent, where the countries are located, and then dive deeper into the unique culture of at least 15 difference countries around our world.
Students are introduced to the physical needs of mankind as they learn about ecosystems and lifestyles in different parts of the world. Students will learn map skills as well as how to use an atlas and the geographic coordinate system. A vocabulary component will focus on geographic terms. Enrichment activities will include things such as understanding currency exchange, language translation for common words, preparing traditional food, making native crafts, and listening to ethnic music.
All materials and supplies will be provided by the tutor covered by the supply fee.
Homework requirement: the course will have light homework but for families who desire to dig deeper, enrichment opportunities can be provided.
