It’s time to learn about knights, samurai, and Viking invasions! Come join us as we explore the Middle Ages in this 30 week, 90 minute history class. 

Using the storybook style text, The Story of the World, Volume 2 by Susan Wise Bauer, we will go back in time to learn about the major historical events all around the world from the fall of Rome through the rise of the Renaissance.  We will use a variety of activities and materials along with our text to make this time period come to life including interactive classroom activities, mapping exercises, worksheets, crafts, games, and assessments. 

Required materials: 

• The Story of the World, Volume 2 by Susan Wise Bauer (for students with reading challenges or other learning differences or preferences, there is also an audiobook available but the physical book will be referenced in class.) 

• 3 ring binder with pockets and notebook paper 

• Access to Schoology – this is where assignments and grades will be posted. 

Homework Requirements: Students will be expected to read the assigned chapter(s) weekly and complete weekly written homework and unit projects as assigned.
