Math-U-See Geometry
Math-U-See Geometry is designed to provide students with vocabulary of geometry, practical applications of geometry, and traditional geometry, including proofs. Topics include lines, angles, area, perimeter, volume, Pythagorean theorem, axioms and postulates, congruency, and similarity.
Students will be provided with a weekly lesson video, lesson worksheets for daily practice, and systematic review of concepts. Class time will be spent reinforcing video lessons through discussing the lesson, answering questions, and completing the first lesson practice page by working through the problems together.
Students will need to come to class having viewed the video lesson and completed their daily homework assignments. To assess students’ understanding of the material, quizzes and tests will be given in a stress-free environment.
Math-U-See Geometry is a 32-week course, meeting for 90 minutes a week.
Lesson concepts include the following:
Points, Lines, Rays, and Line Segments
Planes and Sets
Parallel and Perpendicular Lines with Midpoints and Bisectors
