Lego Stop Motion I
Does your student want to make a lego movie or brickfilm? Lego Stopmotion I is a fun, 30 week, hands-on, hour and a half class using step-by-step stop-motion animation technology and Lego bricks/minifigs. Your student will learn how to make minifigs walk, jump, and even fly! The 12 principles of animation, basic story-telling, lighting, music, special effects and scenery techniques will also be demonstrated.. Some Lego minifigs will be supplied and students are encouraged to bring their own (sanitized). Previous stop motion experience is not necessary.
Materials needed:
Apple or Android smartphone (preferred), Tablet OK
Animation software (Stop Motion Studio - $5)
Minifigs from home (sanitized)
Tripod for home use (can be made from Lego)
Baseplate for home use (at least 14x14)
Homework will be given on a weekly basis to review lessons learned from class. Semester projects include music, comedy and action shorts. A feature presentation/showcase will be given at semester end. Extra credit available. In-Class solo and group assignments help teach new roles and build problem-solving skills.
