High School English 11/12—World Literature, Composition, and Grammar
This 32 week 1 ½ hour class is designed for high school students to fulfill the requirements of one high school credit in English with World literature.
Students will read short stories, poetry, novels and biographies from around the world. Additional context readings will give personal perspective on historical context and author information. Analytical skills will be used to write literary essays. Other topics explored include: strong thesis statements, defending thesis statements, personal essay (used on college applications), SAT essay, research paper, and PowerPoint presentations. Proper MLA paper formatting and documentation will be learned, along with research techniques. A grammar component will freshen up grammar and punctuation skills.
Instructor will supply necessary curriculum and reading. Supply Fee reflects instructor’s purchase of these items.
