Science Lessons and Investigations

Are you ready to investigate what an owl eats? How about exploring the Sun or the stars? Do you wonder what things are made of or why some things explode when they’re mixed together? Let’s dive in and investigate together! In this 30 week, 90 minute class, students will be introduced to general topics in the areas of Life, Earth and Physical Science.

Using the Scientific Method as our guide and Evan Moor and Critical Thinking Company print materials as a starting point, this class will explore weekly science topics and vocabulary through a variety of media, written work, interactive classroom activities and experiments. Students will cover topics such as life processes and food webs, Earth and our solar system, all about water and its role in our lives, the structure of matter, and chemical reactions with the goal of giving the student a greater understanding of the science that’s happening all around us.
