The Phonics of Art and Drawing is a 30-week 1 ½ hour class where the students will learn to develop and improve the fundamental drawing principles that will enable them to draw anything! This progressive step-by-step course will provide a solid foundation for artistic expression. The topics include Shape, Shadow, Contour Line, Perspective, Color Theory, Portraiture, Composition, and Style (Impressionism & Expressionism). We will explore with charcoal, oil pastel, colored pencil, and watercolor among other things.

Parents, please note this class can be challenging but is very doable for all art students who are willing to put in the work to improve their art ability.

Class Homework Requirements:  Daily warm up exercises to work on muscle memory. These may take 15 minutes if the students put forth their very best effort. Encourage them to take their time and embrace their own uniqueness and creativity. On occasion, students will be responsible to complete any projects not finished in class at home.

Required Supplies:  The tutor will provide all required supplies and materials for each student.
