Middle School/High School Drama

Take your students’ theatre and drama experience to the next level! This course is for middle and high school students of all experience levels to explore the dramatic arts in a fun Christian environment.

Through exercises, games, skits and fully staged productions, your children will develop their skills like never before. We begin the school year with drama games and improvisation exercises to allow students to get comfortable with each other and gain confidence in expressing themselves. Students will then go through an audition process to gain experience auditioning, and determine roles for the fall play. The rest of the fall semester will be spent rehearsing a play tailored to the talents and specific make up of the class. This play will be performed at the end of the first semester.*

Our spring semester will be spent on a more involved production, where kids will be challenged to push themselves to explore new ways of dramatic expression. Our students will explore some of the technical aspects of theater as well as perform on stage. They will be required to work on their choice of costumes, props or sets for this show. After auditioning for roles in the spring production, students will rehearse, stage and perform the chosen show at the end of the spring semester.*

* Our shows for next year will be determined after the school year has begun and the makeup of the class is determined. Some previous productions have been “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, “Bye, Bye Birdie”, and “Beauty and the Beast”.

* Tentative dates for the shows are - fall semester 11/14/24; spring semester 4/17/25.
