Tolkien’s Middle Earth Language Arts

“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.” ~ Bilbo Baggins

Embark on a linguistic adventure in this language arts class centered around JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. Beyond exploring Tolkien’s narrative, students will sharpen their writing skills, refresh their grammar knowledge, and broaden their vocabulary through targeted study.

Weekly reading assignments will be the key ingredient in our classroom discussions and activities. Students will be expected to come to class ready to engage in lively discussions as we examine storylines, characterization, and plot development. Completing writing assignments, short projects, and engaging in small group activities will solidify our understanding of the topics discussed in class.
