Magic School Bus Science: B

Join us in this 30-week, 1.5-hour class as we take exciting trips on the magic school bus!  This class will focus on science topics with the help of Ms. Frizzle and the Magic School Bus.  Hands-on lessons will encourage students to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy with engaging science activities. Each week a book from the popular series will be read or occasionally the class will watch one of the latest videos and then spend a class period discovering and learning.  Students will take part in group activities, play games, observe, and perform exciting experiments all to reinforce the concepts of the lesson and encourage a love of science!

We will spend time learning about the amazing human body and how different systems work, the solar system and all of its mysteries, the life cycle of specific insects, unique animals and how they survive, the wonderful science of meteorology, chemistry, physics, and much more.  This is a two-year rotating course with new materials and topics.  New books and videos will be used as well as a few repeat favorites with different activities.

This class is designed for young learners and will be interactive and engaging.  Students are not expected to know how to read or write nor or they expected to sit still for the entire class period.  Each class will begin with a few minutes of hands-on play using STEM toys:  Magna-tiles, construction toys, Snap-circuits, Brain Flakes, blocks, and many other educational toys. This gives the children an opportunity to get the wiggles out and be ready to learn.  Kids learn best by doing and by having fun!  This class will encourage learning while engaging in educational activities that are enjoyable for curious young learners!
