Elementary Foundational Math

This course is designed to review all basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts.  Students will be taught multiple digit addition and subtraction, comparing numbers, and multiple digit multiplication and division. As time allows, enrichment concepts will be introduced such as money including making change, customary and metric measurement, adding and subtracting fractions, geometry, graphs, and probability.

Because students will be entering at different ability levels, Holt mathematics will be utilized for classroom instruction. Different groups will focus on topics specific to their needs. Each year the class is taken, students will advance through the groups until mastering the material.

Homework will be individualized through weekly Math-U-See online video lessons and textbook packets allowing students to move at their own pace through the class and making it more challenging each time it is taken. To assess students’ understanding of the material, tests will be given in a stress-free environment.

Elementary Foundational Math is a 30-week course, meeting for 90 minutes a week. Come join us and improve your confidence and ability to be successful in foundational math skills.
