This 30-week 1.5 hour Yearbook class will cover the makings of a beautiful, image-filled memory book from planning the design to printing the artwork. Our overall goal will be to document the 2021-2022 school year of The Cordova Tutorial. Students will learn how to choose a layout and theme for a photobook, what a serif and sans serif font is and how to use them effectively, how to take a picture for a layout chosen, and how to market, sell, and design ads for the yearbook. Additionally, students will conduct interviews with fellow students and teachers to capture the exciting energy of The Cordova Tutorial family and document that through stories and interviews printed artistically in the layout of the yearbook.
Each student will get a chance to work with a partner using a photobook software on the computer to create a layout of their choice. They will learn the basics of photography, cropping those images to the size needed, and learning about the pixels of images and how the size of those pixels affects the size of the image to create the best appearance when printed. We will also explore the basic element of graphic design to create stunning ads for 2021 Seniors and businesses placing ads in the yearbook.
This class is beneficial in so many ways. Whether you are making your own family memory book or creating a magazine to sell, these skills learned in the yearbook class will give your child the tools for success for many years to come.
Students will receive the free TCT Annual Yearbook that they helped to create.

COVID-19 Contingency Plan:
In the event that the COVID-19 pandemic affects our ability to meet in person in a classroom for the 2021-22 school year, I will make the following adjustments to this class.
*Tutor will submit YouTube videos to view and complete for the weekly project.
*Tutor and students will meet during the last 30 minutes of the scheduled class time for questions, direction, and input via video conferencing platform.
Our plan is to meet in person as soon as it is feasible. We may begin OR cancel CLASSROOM meetings at any point during the school year as the COVID-19 situation changes. Our goal is to keep your family safe and engaged during this unprecedented time.
