This course is designed to review all operations with fractions, decimals and percents over 30 weeks for an hour and a half. The course will also delve into basic equations and operations with integers. These concepts can be stumbling blocks for many learners and with a good foundation, students will be more successful in middle and high school math courses such as Algebra. Other concepts covered include patterns, variables, perimeter, area, graphing, ratios and proportions, and basic geometry terms and skills). This course will further critical-thinking math skills and should be followed by Middle School Math A.
Middle School Math B will be supplemented with tutor-made video lessons each week and online assignments through a game-based program. Class time will be spent reinforcing the video lessons (watched at home) through hands-on activities and extending the lessons for advanced learners. Students will need to come to class having viewed the lessons and completed their daily online assignments in order to stay on track and be prepared. Monthly assignment calendar sheets will be given for students to follow and make sure they are ready to fully participate in class each week. This class is a full curriculum and follows a typical Middle School 7th grade course. No supplemental curriculum will be needed.
