Human Anatomy and Physiology (Exploring Creation)

All creation is awe-inspiring, but the work of the human body, created in the very image of God, is especially jaw-dropping! This 30 week 1 ½ hour A&P for kids’ class will embark on the fascinating study of anatomy and physiology and will showcase the intricacy and design of the human body, from DNA and cell creation to the skeletal, muscular, digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, nervous/endocrine, immune, and integumentary systems. The text is integrated with health and nutrition information, as well as plenty of scripture and biblical application, and is a complete guide to the human body. It is written in an enjoyable, conversational tone that will keep kids engaged. This class will include lectures, experiments, anatomical models, dissections, and hand on experiences of all kinds. All activities will drive home the concepts covered in the class and the text. Also included is an overview exploring the history of medicine. This A&P for kids’ class will be challenging and fun. Quizzes, tests, homework assignments, and personal projects will be given and graded by the instructor. Tests and quizzes will be done through Schoology.com

Supplies provided by the instructor: All lab supplies, dissection supplies, and specimens, models, graphs and charts, notebook, additional text, activity worksheets, tests, and quizzes.

Class Homework requirements: Weekly assignments 1-2 1/2 hours a week, 1 major project GI theme park Fall semester.
