Friendly Chemistry is a hands on, fun and non -intimidating way to learn Chemistry. Most class sessions have a game, experiment or hands on method to teach the challenging concepts of chemistry. The chemistry concepts presented in Friendly Chemistry are NOT watered-down. The concepts are just explained in ways that are readily understood by most learners. Coupled with these explanations is a host of teaching aids, labs and games which makes the learning concrete and multi-sensory. Friendly Chemistry is a complete high school-level chemistry course which uses simple language and a multitude of analogies to make learning easy!  Friendly Chemistry utilizes games, activities and lab experiences to make the concepts crystal clear and readily retained!  Parents often comment, “I wish I had had this when I was taking chemistry. Now it all makes so much sense!”

These are the same topics taught in a traditional high school chemistry course but using language and analogies that make it easier to understand. This class can meet the needs of those looking for Chemistry to fulfill their science requirements to graduate high school and also the student who is interested in a science-based career. It is the perfect curriculum for a homeschool tutorial setting!

Topics Covered include:

  • -Atomic Theory
  • -Trends of the Periodic Table of Elements
  • -Quantum Mechanics (Electron Arrangement)
  • -Ion Formation
  • -Compound Formation – Bonding
  • -Avogadro’s Number and the Mole
  • -Calculation of Formula Weights and Percent Composition
  • -Empirical Formulas
  • -Writing and Classifying Chemical Reactions
