In this 30 week, one and a half hour class, your child will explore the plant and animal kingdoms. From cuddly mammals and slimy frogs to jellyfish and bacteria, your child will discover how God created each living thing to be unique. Students will see God’s hand as we study seeds, leaves, and flowers. This class will help your child explore the wonder and diversity of the animal kingdom, along with the beauty and uniqueness of plant life, including meat-eating plants, fungi, algae, and more. One cannot help but delight in the intricacy of the world of plants and animals when they complete this class.
God’s Design for Life textbooks teach life science from a biblical, creationist perspective, emphasizing God’s handiwork in the world around us. Classes will consist of lectures and hands-on activities and projects. Visits from animals and a bit of dissection are included also. God’s Design books contain special feature articles that examine the lives of scientists throughout history who have contributed to the subject. Other articles contain fun facts. Finally, each book has an optional unit project which can be completed at home that ties all of the lessons together and reinforces what the student has learned. This is a fun, low/no stress class with minimal homework outside of reading short lessons. The first semester covers the plant kingdom. The second semester explores the animal kingdom and briefly discusses the other kingdoms of living things. Come join us in learning about the world that God created!

COVID-19 Contingency Plan:
In the event that the COVID-19 pandemic affects our ability to meet in person in a classroom for the 2020-21 school year, we will make the following adjustments to this class. Tutor will provide assignments to be completed weekly and supplies as needed to accompany lessons. Tutor and students will meet at the scheduled class time via live video streaming to review material and answer questions. Testing will be submitted and graded/corrected electronically. Our goal is to meet in person as soon as it is feasible. We may begin classroom meetings at any point during the school year as the COVID-19 situation resolves.
