Adventures in French grades 4-6

Introduction to French Level 1 Grades 4-6

This course is designed as a basic introduction to French, the language, the culture and geography. We will learn some French, sing some songs, play some games and discover the French-speaking world. We will have engaging projects and classroom activities to introduce your young learner to this second language that is used around the world. Students who are actively involved in their learning will remember what they have learned better so we will strive to be actively engaged every class.

French is one of the top three second languages used around the world by different peoples and different cultures. We will explore these differences in a fun and engaging way. Your child should come out of class knowing French phrases and expressions as well as information about the world around us that uses French in their daily lives.

COVID-19 Contingency Plan:

In the event that the COVID-19 pandemic affects our ability to meet in person in a classroom for the 2021-22 school year, I will make the following adjustments to this class. Tutor and students will meet at the scheduled class time via a video chat service. Assignments can be submitted electronically, and feedback will be provided electronically. Our goal is to meet in person as soon as it is feasible. We may begin classroom meetings at any point during the school year as the COVID-19 situation resolves.
