This course is a great addition to the high school mathematics curriculum. For the student who is not the most mathematically-inclined, statistics is for them! Statistics covers topics on types of variables, sampling, experimentation, probability, normal distributions, statistical testing and confidence. Students will work through activity-based learning sessions from real-world data over 30 weeks with 90 minute class sessions. They will work with their peers to discover the world of data and how to make sense of all of it in a data-driven world. Students are required to have a graphing calculator in addition to the textbook in class each week. They will also receive tutor-made instructional videos each week on the concepts that will be covered in class to supplement the activities.
Curriculum: Workshop Statistics: Discovery with Data 4th edition
Note: This curriculum is intended to be used as a workbook. Students will be writing in them so it is important that you do not rent the book, but actually purchase it for personal use.
