Early Church & Middle Ages
The Mystery of History Volume II (AD 30-1456) picks up where the story of Volume I leaves off – at the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and moves to the fall of the Western Roman Empire and the Dark Ages that followed. We will visit knights and damsels, kings and queens, and the peasants who faithfully served them. Students will visit Vikings and villains; castles and crusades. Beyond Europe, we will study the life of Mohammed and the spread of Islam along with the rise and fall of dynasties in Japan and China. We will visit Africa and the Great Zimbabwe empire and then move to the Americas and investigate the rituals of the Aztecs and the gold of the Incas in Peru. Please note this is a Christian based curriculum. Students will need a hard copy or audio copy of Mystery of History Volume II, textbook only. Students will also need a three-ring binder.
