The Science of Cooking

This yummy 30 week 1 ½ hour class will focus on the Science of Cooking.  You see Cooking is science at work.  There are so many scientific concepts and methods at work in the kitchen every day.  Chemical reactions, oxidation, emulsion, catalysis’s, and diffusion are only some of the things that happen in a busy kitchen on a daily basis.  To know the science is the beginning of becoming really good chief.  Your budding Chief will enjoy hands on cooking experiences from boiling water to creating complete nitrous and delicious meals.  They will become confident in experimenting with the skills they learn in the class. Everyone is going to enjoy the homework for this class as your student will be using the concepts they learned at home.  We will be teaching the students culinary skills and helping them to learn how to create and enjoy foods that are both tasty and healthy.  We will cover the science of food preservation, preparation, and proper cooking tech, storing and clean up.   More details to come.
