Creative Writing IEW (Level A & Level B)

Creative Writing IEW
(Level A & Level B)

This 30 week 1-1/2 hour class is built on the Institute for Excellence in Writing, Teaching Writing: Structure and Style. Students will learn to take notes, summarize narrative stories, write 3 paragraph stories, write from pictures, and compose creative essays from the Brain. This approach gives your student information on how to put into writing the information hidden in their imagination. Ultimately, your student’s writing experiences will cause them to think more deeply about what they are experiencing in their lives. In the class I use positive feedback from myself and from their peers as we all evaluate each other’s work, finding the best of each to complement. This is a very enjoyable approach to becoming a confident and competent communicator both in the written form as well as oral presentations.

The class includes weekly writing lab with teacher review. In this class the students will also present their papers and gain experience in oral presentation skills. There will be weekly writing assignments. ***Access to computer and printer required- all final papers must be typed and printed***
